At Neighborhood Reads, our name is our mission.

We're working to keep reading a community priority.

 

Neighborhood Reads is an independent bookstore and gift shop inside a charming historic house in Downtown Washington, Missouri. Washington sits along the Missouri River, about 45 minutes west of St. Louis.

 

Our bookshop welcomes neighbors every day to shop, attend book clubs and workshops and participate in programs like our summer reading game and a year-long Missouri Reader Challenge for kids. From spring to fall, Neighborhood Reads hosts Saturday Storytimes in the backyard for young readers.

 

We work with our partner nonprofit, the Community Literacy Foundation, and its supporters, to provide new children's books every month to all schools in our area and our local library. We recommend these books -- and many others for all ages -- on our blog, Bound to Read.
